Nutrition Committee Update - Januray 30th

Healthy Farms Healthy Kids Legislation. 4^th and 5^th Graders follow the News.

This Spring, students will be learning about Farm to School issues through an elective Journalism class taught by 4^th/5^th grade teacher, Laura Grow.   This exciting crossroads of student initiative, a Seattle Public Schools STEPS Grant and teacher/student mutual interest will result in Orca’s community following the challenges and opportunities to support small and mid-sized farms to provide fresh produce to Washington State public schools. Exciting hands-on activities, farm and trips and a journalist visitor will stimulate great conversation, learning and culminate in articles for the student newspaper and poster presentation.
