Healthy Farms Healthy Kids Legislation. 4th and 5th
Graders follow the News.
This Spring, students will be learning about Farm to School
issues through an elective Journalism class taught by 4th/5th
grade teacher, Laura Grow.
This exciting
crossroads of student initiative, a Seattle Public Schools STEPS Grant and
teacher/student mutual interest will result in Orca’s community following the
challenges and opportunities to support small and mid-sized farms to provide
fresh produce to
Washington
State public schools.
Exciting hands-on activities, farm and trips and a journalist visitor will
stimulate great conversation, learning and culminate in articles for the
student newspaper and poster presentation. Thank you STEPS!
