Dear Families,
I hope that autumn is treating you well. The change in the weather and shortening days seem to put me in to a more reflective mood. It is also a great season for reading. For the next two weeks your student should be reading a literature book of their choice. They will be finding their own vocabulary words to look up and then doing 3 Literature Choice Activities. However, this time one of those choices will be their final project and something that they can share with their classmates in a small book group. I will try to post the expectations for this project on -line. Our class website is:

This week is curriculum night. It is Wednesday at 7-8:30. There will be two 45 minute shifts so you just need to attend one. This will be a great time for me to answer any questions and concerns that you have –as well as give you an overview of the year. Many math questions have arisen and hopefully I can answer those!
Reminder: Homework Expectations (since there is no school Friday things are due on Thursday!)
- Read 30 minutes a night
- Memorize Poem
- 3 Math pages….to be completed after we taught the lesson in school & returned the following day for class discussion.
- Studying math facts (by using triangles, playing games such as Top It, Multiplication Baseball)
Thank you for bringing in the 2 liter bottles. We are getting closer to being able to make our aquariums and terrariums. We need all of them in order to create “fair tests.”
My email is lrgrow@seattleschools.org
The classroom phone # is 252-6915. But, if you have an important message for your child call the office and they will make sure we get it. I check messages only when I get a spare moment and that is usually before and after school.
Respectfully,
Laura Grow
